Closed Door Sessions

 A Live Recording Session

Capo Manila PH recently debuted a Closed Door event last Saturday, May 14 at Lemmy's Bistro.
This was a unique show featuring a few of the best local bands in the indie music community.

Capo MNL is a budding music production venturing on putting up atypical music events around Metro Manila, Philippines featuring uprising OPM artists.  Apart from the artists being involved in the music scene with a live audience, Capo MNL brings the storytelling process to social media platforms for greater reach through live recordings of the performances of these ultimately talented OPM artists.

A storyteller's medium is what Capo MNL aims to continuously be. With the intimate setup concept perfectly fit for the artists' stories they share through music, and the overwhelming respect from the audience - regardless of generation, genre and social differences - to the musicality and creativity each performance exhibits, Capo MNL is envisioning a music industry that is a safe space to express, be listened to, and be appreciated.

Aligned with Capo MNL's advocacy to provide a platform for musicality, creativity and artist-audience rapport, it is their mission to feature uprising OPM artists in a series of intimately curated events where the audience could take a seat, indulge in the homey atmosphere, engage in the storytelling, and acknowledge the unique sound there is from each performing artist.

Artists featured during the Closed Door Sessions.

Be updated with the latest recordings through their YouTube Channel.

Capo MNL and Lemmy's Bistro will be working closely together in bringing good music and good community for everyone. We look forward to be the home of the rising stars in the country.

Raclette is a semi-hard cheese produced in the French and Swiss Alps. Traditionally they are called, Valais Raclette or Fromage. The name Raclette comes from the French word 'racler', which means 'to scrape'. The cheese has a thin, brownish-orange rind and a pale yellow pate with a few scattered open holes. It has a distinctive pleasant, aromatic smell with a creamy texture, which do not separate even when melted. (Definition from www.cheese.com)

The cheese is melted using a machine that comes in several forms. For this event, we used 2 different types. For the half-wheel cheese, we used a heavy duty machine that holds the whole block of cheese under a large heating rod. When the top layer of the cheese starts to look creamy and almost toasted, we used a spatula to scrape it off into a plate filled with a colorful selection of side dishes and greens.

The other machine is the called the spatula party set that comes with a plate on top that serves as a griller for the veggies and other sides. For this type of griller, we had to slice the raclette into thin pieces so that it fits into the spatula to be set under the heating rod until melted. When ready, the spatula is taken out of the heat and let the cheese slide into the serving plate.
Comment below if you need a link where you can buy these machines locally.

This party is one of our favorites because it didn't require too much effort on cooking and hosting. All we needed was a shop that sells all of our food selection, a great staff to help with the food presentations, the perfect wine selection and the right crowd to invite.

Check out this short clip for a glimpse of how the night looked like.

On behalf of Lemmy's Bistro and The French Corner, we would like to thank everyone for attending this special event. We hope that you enjoyed the evening as much as we did.
